Govera Schools
Govera Schools Egan originated from the defunct Charlesville schools, formerly situated at 36 Isiaka Olorunfemi Street, near Olorunfemi bus stop in Egan, in 2002. It was during this time that Mrs. Okoye Veronica Uchenna, an accomplished educationist with a wealth of experience, including her tenure as Headmistress of Class Three in the Anambra State Education Commission and as the former principal of Nodos International School, founded Govera Schools. Mrs. Uchenna’s educational journey began in 1985 with an NCE certificate, and she has since earned a degree in English education from the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka, as well as a master’s degree in English education from Lagos State University and currently pursuing a certificate course from Buckingham University, United Kingdom. With over thirty years of experience in education, Mrs. Uchenna laid a strong foundation for Govera Schools.
The school started with only creche, Nursery, and Primary schools before adding the secondary arm in 2015. Govera Schools relocated from its original address to No.12 Michael Ajayi Street before finally establishing its permanent site at No. 26 Zion Way in Egan.
Throughout its enduring history, Govera Schools has stood the test of time and witnessed its graduates excel in Nigerian universities, making significant contributions to society and the business world. The school has actively participated in various competitions, securing numerous achievements and accolades. Notably, Govera Schools’ students have displayed exceptional prowess in the Nigerian Conservation Fund competition, held annually to commemorate Conservation Day. Additionally, participation in local and international competitions has exposed pupils and students to exchange programs beyond their immediate surroundings.
Govera Schools is currently in the final stages of obtaining approval for WAEC, NECO, and other external exams. The school is fully equipped with standard laboratories, libraries, ICT/computer rooms, a home economics lab, basic tech labs, CCA labs, functional basketball courts, table tennis courts, and spacious halls for assemblies and special events. With unwavering dedication, Govera Schools continues to uphold its founding principles of excellence, quality education, high moral standards, and the nurturing of exceptional future leaders. As the school looks ahead, it envisions expanding its branches beyond Lagos and its environs.
Govera Schools is a coeducational institution built upon Christian values and committed to promoting societal and family values.
